Cost for the event remains at $175 per driver. Participants can expect five to six 20 minute sessions. The schedule may vary based upon the number of participants. In order for us to be able to offer this event at $175, participants will have to work the corners part of the day. I've attached a corner worker schedule. Again, this schedule could change based upon the number of participants. The attached schedule is based upon 4 run groups. We have an alternate schedule if we change to 3 run groups. The ACCO has been very generous in loaning the event organizers their event van. This provides us with additional cones, loaner helmets, radio communications and most importantly, a way to transport corner workers to and from their stations. Volunteers are always welcome to work the corners. If you can't afford the event and would like to be a spectator, there's no better place to view the track than from a corner worker's position. ORP is offering a free corner worker training program on March 26th. They are offering full corner worker certification. This means you can be a paid corner worker at other events. See the attached ORP link for details.
The event date is Thursday, June 23rd. 7am tech. 7:30 drivers meeting. First run group on the track at 8am. The schedule may vary. Todd Lindquist and I are organizing the event on behalf of the ACCO. We are in the collection phase of the event. Normally, ORP has a 60 day cancellation notice. They've been kind enough to extend that to 45 days. What does that mean for us? Basically May 4th is the date we need to have payment in full from everyone. After that, Todd and I are on the line for the full track day rental. We are accepting $100 deposits and payment in full by May 4th. Feel free to contact me if you like to discuss in further detail as we may be able to work out other payment arrangements. Payments can be made directly to me or my business. As my business accepts credit cards, I can take payment that way, as well. Payment information to follow.
Again, this is a great way to get your feet wet at an open track event. We're providing a safe and exciting way to put your car on the track, with free driver instruction if you'd like. This is NOT a race. We're treating this event more as a driver instruction day with the freedom for experienced drivers to stretch their legs. We've got 20 or so paid entries and 15 or so committed that we're awaiting payment from. We were looking at capping the event at 40, but we'll likely cap it at 50 or so. At 4 run groups, there will only be 10-12 cars on the track at a time. Please pass this on to club members or forward to friends you feel may be interested. Please see the attached. Cheers!
