Welcome to AutoXclub.org!
2008 Oregon Shootout Invitational has been resurrected.
This event, originally scheduled for October 2008, was canceled due to weather.
Although we did our best to get the word out that the event had been canceled,
a number of people did not get the word in time. For those who showed up,
we offer our sincere apology.
To make things up, we have decided to hold a make-up event for the 2008 Shootout at
Hoodoo on either May 23/24 or June 6/7. The final date will be determined by a vote of the
participants. There will be no entry fees! ACCO will be covering the entire cost of the
event as a way of making up for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation of the October
2008 date.
We will be running at least 2 separate courses, 4 if we have enough participants.
Drivers who qualified for the 2008 event are invited to attend the make-up event.
We do need your help to plan for this event, so please RSVP to clubhouse@autoxclub.org and let us know your preference for the date of the event by selecting one of the three options below:
A. Either date fine
B. Prefer the May 23/24 date
C. Prefer the June 6/7 date
This is your chance to win the coveted "Top Dawg" or "Quick Chick" award for the 2008 season.
Awards will be given for the following categories:
"Top Dawg", best overall male driver
"Quick Chick", the best overall female driver Category Champions in Stock, Street Prepared,
Modified and Prepared classes.
Club participation "Team Awards" for best combined results in Stock, Street Prepared, Modified
and Prepared classes.
Overall "Club Participation Award" for the club fielding the most drivers
To qualify for the Shootout, drivers must have placed 1st or 2nd in class as determined by their club's 2008 Season Championship rules.
Be sure to be at the next club meeting to help
sort out the rest of the details for this season.

For those who have not yet picked up their 2008 Season Championship Awards,
we will have them at the meeting. We are still seeking volunteers for several open positions and
would appreciate hearing from members who would like to help out.
Non-members interested in learning more about the club are invited to attend.
What attracts drivers to autocrossing? Maybe it’s the fact they can safely drive their everyday car on the edge
without fear of damaging anything. It’s just you against the clock, on a course defined with traffic cones.
If you make a mistake, you’ll only knock over a few cones. It’s great fun!
You’ll learn the same skills professional racecar drivers learn.
Things like heel and toe downshifting, the correct line through a corner, trail braking and more.
You’ll learn how to dial-in your cars handling with simple things like tire pressure and alignment.
If you’re into modifying your car, the clock will confirm if your upgrades helped,
instead of just believing some magazine article.
There are Category & Classes
for everything from bone-stock,
daily-driven sub-compacts to dedicated, track-tuned monsters.
What equipment does your car need?
We only ask that your car be safe.
Check out this Safety Check List to be sure you have everything.
You don't need a 'RACE CAR' to participate.
We invite you to tour our site using the navigation menu to the left.
We look forward to seeing YOU at one of our upcoming events!
